The Lockerbie Square Neighborhood Association is a neighborhood association that is responsible for maintaining a vibrant community including organizing social activities and overseeing preservation projects.  The neighborhood also assumes responsibility for providing services beyond those provided by the city, all of which work towards ensuring property values, providing for safety, maintenance, and the quality of life in Lockerbie Square.  These include:

  • Additional street lighting above what IPL and the City provides

  • Snow removal for interior streets and alleys

  • Street cleaning beyond the city's once-a-year service

  • Repair of Lockerbie's brick sidewalks

  • Maintenance and replacement of neighborhood trees

  • Pre-emergent ground treatment every spring to deter the growth of weeds in the sidewalks

  • Annual support for organizations that support our neighborhood such as Riley Area Development and the IMPD Horse Patrol

  • Historic markers and historic street name signs

  • Neighborhood functions – July 4th, Holiday Party, etc.

We hope all neighbors will join us for our monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm (except July and December) at the Riley Education Center behind the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home at 528 Lockerbie Street.

Please consider becoming a member and helping us maintain this historic community.
